Usva Inei is a trans non-binary visual and performance artist as well as an art educator. Working from their lived experiences as a queer Russian immigrant, Usva currently explores themes of misuse of power, suppression of freedom of speech, and generational trauma. Usva works through experimental printmaking, mixed media installations, and interactive theatre.

Art education is a central part of Usva’s practice. They regularly teach printmaking, drawing, and mixed media courses for both adults and children as well as SEND groups. Usva further runs various art workshops for museums, libraries, and community centres.

Usva is an independent art-based researcher with a background in consumer culture research. They are currently involved in several interdisciplinary research projects that combine political science, sociology, and art-based research.
